You started your journey as a Health or Wellness Coach with big dreams.
You were ready to change lives, support transformation, and create real impact. You poured your heart into learning your craft - whether it’s gut health, hormone balance, intuitive eating, or helping people ditch diet culture for good.
And you knew you needed to market yourself online to grow a thriving practice.
So you set up the things.
A beautiful website.
An Instagram account.
And - because everyone in the wellness industry told you it was essential -you created a lead magnet and got in many happy email subscribers.
At first, it felt kind of exciting sending out weekly emails and keeping in touch with your subscribers.
But then… something happened.
The weekly email became just another thing on your to-do list.
And suddenly, it felt heavy.
Why Email Marketing Feels Like a Chore for So Many Wellness Coaches
Here’s the truth that no one talks about: email marketing can feel exhausting...but not because you’re lazy, disorganized, or “not consistent enough.”
It feels exhausting because you’re juggling a dozen other roles....especially if you’re a solopreneur in the wellness space.
Think about everything you’re holding:
Coaching clients 1:1 or in group settings
Doing discovery calls with potential clients
Coming up with content ideas for Instagram or TikTok
Recording podcast episodes or reels
Learning new modalities and certifications
Creating or improving your offers and programs
Supporting your clients with energy, empathy, and care
And let’s not forget: being a human with a family, partner, friends, pets, hobbies, and - oh yeah - a nervous system 🤣
So if you’ve opened your laptop, stared at a blinking cursor, and thought:
What on earth do I even say?
You’re not alone. And more importantly - it's more common than you think.
You’re just doing too much without a system that supports your creativity and energy.
What Actually Happened to Your Weekly Email Plan
When you started writing emails, you probably imagined it would be simple:
300-400 words, something personal, a little insight or inspiration, and boom - sent.
But the missing piece is not your ability to write.
It’s capacity.
Because writing a weekly email isn’t just writing. It’s:
Thinking of what to say
Trying to be personal and professional
Second-guessing your voice and tone
Editing five times before clicking "send"
And doing it all while already emotionally spent from everything else
And let’s be honest - there’s a particular type of guilt that sets in when you don’t send the email, especially in the health and wellness industry, because you're always focused on your goal of bringing healing to as many people as you can.
If you've ever thought :
“I’m letting my list go cold.”
“I should just batch a bunch of emails like so-and-so.”
The total truth is : you’re just trying to do too much manually, without tools, frameworks, or support.
Let’s fix that. Read on for some tips on how to make this easy
3 Things You Can Do Today to Make Email Marketing Easier (and More Fun)
You don’t need to magically become an ultra-organized email machine overnight. But you do need a few practical shifts to make email feel like a creative, strategic tool again - instead of another chore.
Here are 3 powerful (but doable) things you can start with today
1️Start a Story Bank
Wellness Coaches are storytellers by nature. You’re walking through life and collecting insights every day - whether it’s a conversation with a client, something you noticed in your own body, or a lesson you’ve learned the hard way.
But when it comes time to write, your brain seems to be searching for way too long - I totally see you.
That’s why I recommend starting a simple story bank.
Keep it in a Google Doc, a voice note on your phone, or a notebook - whatever works for your brain.
Every time something interesting or reflective happens, jot it down.
These don’t need to be polished thoughts.
Just messy, real moments that will eventually become golden email material. I do this so regularly with my clients, they leave me voice notes and I turn them into a series of emails.
Most of the time I give them a couple of questions and from a 4-minute voice note reply, I can typically get content for 3 -4 emails (this is also because I'm a Content Repurposer so I see content very differently than a regular email marketer)
Need some prompts?
Something a client said that stuck with you
A pattern you’re noticing in your coaching calls
An unexpected health breakthrough you experienced
A “myth” in your field you’re tired of seeing
A behind-the-scenes look at your process
This keeps your content authentic and helps you avoid the “what do I even say?” spiral.
2️Repurpose Your Social Media Content into Emails
Yes, repurposing. But not the copy-paste kind. 😂
(Please. Your email list deserves better.)
What I mean is: look at your best performing content on Instagram or TikTok - things people saved, shared, or commented on...and explore how you can deepen that message in email form.
Your email list wants more depth, not more noise.
Let’s say you made a reel about how cortisol impacts gut health.
Your caption was short and snappy. In your email, expand on that idea - share a client story, a simple protocol, or even a myth you want to bust.
Suddenly, your email isn’t starting from scratch. It’s a remix of content you already created.
Same voice. Same message.
New depth. New channel. More trust.
3️Talk to Your Subscribers
Seriously. Just ask them what they want to hear from you.
Your email list isn’t just a broadcasting tool - it’s a conversation. And if it feels one-sided, it’s because no one told you to actually engage them.
Send a short email with 2-3 topic options and ask:
“Which one are you most curious about right now?”
Or:
“What do you wish more Health Coaches talked about?”
You’ll be shocked at how many people reply. And suddenly - boom - content ideas, clarity, and connection.
And if no one replies? That’s still data.
Time to refine your list, segment your subscribers, or revisit how you're positioning your lead magnet.
